Kaizen Activities & Community Involvement

F&P is dedicated to continuous improvement using Kaizen activities with the Six Sigma Standardization in mind throughout all of our departments and facilities.  Going beyond the simple improvements to actual production, we strive for improvements throughout all of our departments to reduce waste, increase efficiencies and productivity.

Improvements to assist in associates movements, reduced handling, more direct material and information flow and overall workplace environments.  Bringing us to a more lean manufacturing and achieving a reduction in multiple energies overall.

None of this would be achievable without our associate involvement within our “J.U.M.P. (Just Us Making Progress)” program.  This program includes:

  • GF Circles – a group of 5-10 associates identify an improvement initiative, and utilizing problem solving tools, work together to identify the root cause. These circles address everything from safety, quality and environmental issues to production related improvements.
  • Tips (Total Improvement Proposal System) – associates are responsible for the submission, implementation and completion of improvement suggestions within the corporation.

Community Involvement includes regular contributions to many local sports, community organizations and festivals.  My Sister’s Place and Mathew’s House both located in Alliston.  Sponsoring of the Tottenham Santa Clause Parade, family skates and other family orientated activities.

Annual tree planting organized and participated by our associates on their own time working along side with the South Simcoe Streams Network.
