Position Title: IT Infrastructure & Network Analyst
Pay Grade: Labour Grade 7
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Network, Server, and Project Professional to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our organization’s network infrastructure, servers, and managing IT projects. This role requires expertise in network administration, server management, and project coordination to ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Administration
- Manage and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Ensure network security by implementing and monitoring security measures and protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with IT team members to plan and execute network upgrades and improvements.
- Conduct regular network performance monitoring and optimization.
Server Management
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, both physical and virtual.
- Perform server upgrades, patches, and updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor server health, resource utilization, and backup systems to prevent data loss
- Implement disaster recovery plans and backup strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues efficiently.
Project Coordination
- Lead and participate in IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate project resources, including team members and external vendors.
- Monitor project progress and report status to management.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, server setups, and project plans.
- Generate regular reports on network and server performance, project status, and IT KPIs.
- Ensure that all IT processes and procedures are well-documented and up-to-date.
Technical Support
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving IT-related issues and inquiries.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of user accounts, email systems, and software applications.
- Collaborate with the IT helpdesk to ensure timely problem resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proven experience in network administration and server management
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead and coordinate projects
- Proficiency in networking protocols, server operating systems, and virtualization technologies
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance standards
Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of networking monitoring and management tools
- Understanding of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks
