Position Summary:
Provide first level technical service/support, installation, maintenance for personal computers, network devices, and applications and create standards and procedures documentation
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for investigating industry appropriate IT standards
- Creating standard documentation for network IT/OT
- Create standard for network cabling using MICE
- Create procedures for critical IT failures
- Ensures that personal computers and networking components are functioning properly and are available for intended use
- Recommends, installs and maintain personal computers and applications
- Perform tape rotation for backups
- Confirm hardware inventory lists
- Assists with computer related issues and projects as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Hours of Work:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30AM to 4:00PM
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Computer Programming, Computer Systems, Computer Science or IT related program
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage time
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Keen interest in technological development and advancements
- Ability to suggest process improvements
Work Environment:
- Office and plant environment
- May be exposed to dust, odours, noise, smoke and etc
