Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Supervisor, assist with various duties amongst the Human Resources team that meet the educational requirements of a Human Resources Education co-op term.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in the recruitment of external candidates, internal candidates and temporary to permanent positions via interviewing, job posting processing, and determining successful candidates as per each job posting requirement
- Co-leading onboarding and orientation process for new hires
- Maintain employee files and assist with migration to digital HRIS platform
- Liaise with temporary placement agencies to fill open positions and schedule temporary associates on a weekly basis
- Opportunities to participate in workplace investigations involving complaints, allegations and/or accusations of workplace conflict
- Participate in Human Resources project planning, development and implementation to apply educational experiences into the workplace
- Participate in everyday HR duties such as attendance management, legislated leave management, disciplinary actions, consulting and employee support
- Collaborate with Union representative alongside HR personnel to gain exposure to a unionized environment
- Other duties as assigned
Hours of Work:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30AM to 4:00PM
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a University of College Human Resources degree or certificate program
- Relatable job experience is an asset

- Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Adaptable to changing situations
- Ability to work independently, and in a team environment
- Experience with Office 365
